Wrist release from Tru-Fire.
Tru-Fire has created a classic wrist release to incorporate a resistance trigger usually only available in hand held target releases.
About the functionality:
To hook into the string, the safety lock on the head is pressed into the case to fix the loop. Now the release is ready to shoot, as you know it from a common trigger release. As shown on the pictures, the shape of the head is different from common wrist releases, where the connection between the release head and the wrist band is in a straigt line. The ThruFire has an arched connection, so that the index finger is placed in the line of force, rather than next to it. The trigger itself is hidden in the arc. As long as the index finger is not within this arc, the release will not fire. If the index finger is placed front of the bar during full draw, the release is ready to shoot. Pulling against the wall in full draw increases the tension and the spring inside the bar is increasingly elongated, causing the trigger to advance and ultimately touch the finger. So the finger doesnt activate the trigger, but it is activated by increasing the tension, until the finger can touch the trigger button.
To sum up, the ThruFire release combines the safety and feel of conventional wrist releases with a trigger similar to resistance back tension releases of target releases.
Technical Specifications:
- Spring tension adjustable between 5 - 30 lbs (thereby also changing the release travel and tension)
