Bogensportshop.eu is operated by BSS GmbH, a young ecommerce company from Aachen, Germany. The online store celebrated its official opening on 1st of December 2018, at that time still as a sole proprietorship. In August 2022, BSS GmbH became the legal successor of the sole proprietorship Tilman Bremer e.K. and thus took over all rights and obligations of the company.
 

The Beginning

It didn't start with archery accessories. Well, at least not the usual accessories you are thinking of. In 2016, the SICHTKRAFT brand was registered, under which we produced simple, inexpensive and reliable manual scoreboards. Other items such as mounts, flags and signs were quickly added to the product range.
  After a while, we were also able to supply more and more equipment for other sports. Our products were especially suited for Ultimate Frisbee. In 2020, we were even awarded the contract to supply the scoreboards for the WFDF World Ultimate Championships.

The Pandemic

Because it was going so great, we moved at the turn of the year 2019/2020. We now had a proper warehouse for the raw materials of the SICHTKRAFT products and a separate workshop for production. The archery store had been running for about a year as a "side project", but was still relatively small and so did not yet generate any profits.

There's no other way to put it: the pandemic has hit us hard. Sales of our SICHTKRAFT brand fell by 80% from 2019 to 2020. From one moment to the next, the market was gone. We were allowed to continue operating as a mail order company, but that doesn't help much, if no one needs your products anymore. And that remained the case until well into 2021, because sporting events were canceled across the board.

So there was nothing left to do but to build up the archery store as quickly as possible to ensure the survival of the company. With an emergency aid from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, we survived 2020. At the beginning of 2021 the archery store was starting to be able to make up for the lost sales. Because we could not afford to hold on to storage and production capacity for years in case "normality" returned, a decision was made in the spring of 2021. The production and distribution of scoreboards and competition equipment under the SICHTKRAFT brand was discontinued..

Bogensportshop now

More than two years after the start of the pandemic, we have recovered from the shock. We've grown extremely quickly in recent years, simply because we had to. So if you ask yourself: Why is there suddenly this retailer, that I haven't heard of before? Now you know why.
  As of the end of 2022, we offer more than 2500 products with over 20 000 variants and ship them to 10 different countries in Europe. And we are convinced that we are the leading online retailer for archery products in Europe. Not only do we offer a larger product range, we also have more and better information about the products, whether in the store, in our blog or on Youtube. We pack your order better, we ship faster and we inform you better every step of the way. Through in-house developed software you can always see what we have in stock and how fast we are able to ship it. And we can pick and ship your order extremely fast. The items are checked twice, in the warehouse and at the packing station. So our error rate is extremely low. Everything to make shopping with us as easy and pleasant as possible.
